deloitte case reflection

This project incited a lot of uncertainty among our group due to the sheer volume of information provided for this case study. I think my group did a fantastic job coordinating and connecting our work into a cohesive presentation. This came as a result of continued communication and collaboration through several meetings and dialogues both synchronously in-person and asynchronously online. We also read through our deliverables together and gave notes on each section so that everyone understood each other's parts.  It also built a lot of confidence to meet shortly before the presentation and rehearse together a few times. The presentation itself went very well; although our group did not win the day, I felt we conveyed our strategies clearly and answered follow-up questions aptly.

I think where we fell short was the creative vision of our proposal strategies. Since there was significant information provided and seemingly countless solutions, our group tried as best as possible to remain true to the data and recommend the actions we felt were hinted at within the description of the issue. From what I understand, some of the winning strategies introduced creative marketing plans that, at times, departed from the important issues of the text to create new revenue streams. I think my group could have developed a more bold and creative strategy that may have been more eye-catching. Though we felt it was the more conservative approach, it seems a technical strategy towards Hammer Co.’s issues was not enough to pull them out of their cash crunch.

I think next time I will try to think outside of the text a little more. We felt that the emphasis and volume of the provided resources meant that we should create solutions based in and directly related to the data. Due to this, our proposals were somewhat limited by the scope of the text and addressing the pressing issues within it.
